Project description

To create a user interface for Region Jämtland/Härjedalen (RJH) in order to be able to bill other regions/counties. Today this is a manual process and the digitalisation is expected to save both time and money for RJH. The project had a reference group of super users in order to achieve the best possible usability and user experience.

In this project I was the sole UX designer and the team consisted of frontend and backend developers, a scrum master and a project manager. Since I have experience of working with requirements I also helped the project manager writing requirements and performing user acceptance tests.

Work process

Two main views were created as a base for different functionalities for the user. The main view was the inbox where all incoming invoices are displayed and then the invoice itself with all the information needed for the user to approve the invoice. From these two views other functionalities, such as search, were implemented by adding/removing components.
Only desktop views were in scope for this project.

Tools and methods used:
Reference group feedback, workshops
Design: Adobe XD, Zeplin, Overflow
Way of working: VSTS DevOps

Challenges

Understanding the complexity of the system and the user flow, with all its exceptions and rare scenarios, was definitely the most challenging part of this project. Taking different roles into consideration, with different permissions in the system, while trying to make the process for the user as simple and efficient as possible has taught me a lot.
